Federation of European Biochemical Societies: Short-Term Fellowships 1614 views

Federation of European Biochemical Societies (FEBS) Short-Term Fellowships are granted for the purpose of scientific collaboration, advanced training or employing techniques not available at the candidates’ usual place of work.

Duration: Fellowships are awarded for max. 2 or 3 months (in exceptional cases)

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must hold Doctorate or at least one published paper as a main author in an international scientific journal.
  • Applicant must be a scientist with maximum 6 years postdoc experience.

Fellowship value:

  • cover maintenance and travel costs (for the Fellow only)
  • daily maintenance allowance: €60/day,
  • Travel costs: second-class rail fare or an economy flight between the place of residence and the host laboratory.

Applications:

  • Application form can be downloaded from the website. Following details are required along with application form:
  • Brief description of research proposal (max 2 A4-sized pages)
  • Short CV (including publications list)
  • Acceptance letter from the appointed head of the host institute or department, countersigned by the head of the research group(s).
  • Letter supporting the application from an experienced scientist who knows the applicant and does not work at the host institute. This letter should be written on headed paper of the referee’s laboratory and should be sent directly to the Chairperson of the FEBS Fellowships Committee, independently of the other documents.
  • A letter from the appropriate FEBS Constituent Society confirming that the applicant is a member and indicating the date upon which the applicant joined the Society.

Important note:

  • Applications may be made at any time of the year.
  • Application must reach the Chairperson of the FEBS Fellowships Committee at least 2 months before the proposed starting date.
  • Backdated applications cannot be considered.
