Freie Universität Berlin: Postdoc Visiting Research Fellowship 1956 views

Freie Universität Berlin: Zentrum Moderner Orient Berlin (ZMO) and the Berlin Graduate School of Muslim Cultures and Societies (BGSMCS) calls for applications for Visiting Research Fellowships for the year of 2017. University is interested in attracting exceptional postdoctoral researchers who are involved in research projects that are related to the respective research profiles at ZMO and BGSMCS.

Requirements:

  • Applicants must send their applications directly to the institution of preference (BGSMCS or ZMO).
  • Both institutions expect fellows to take part in their academic life, and to give one demonstration on their research project.
  • Applicants to ZMO are asked to state with which of the institute’s 4 research groups within the BMBF funded research program (Muslim Worlds – World of Islam) they would want to be associated during their stay.
  • Fellowship is open for senior researchers and post-doctorates in the humanities and the social sciences.

Fellowship value: a monthly stipend of 2500 EUR; covering travel and accommodation expenses and a period of stay that should not exceed 2 months.

Note:

  • Slots are available throughout the year with the exception of July and August.
  • Applicants from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East are encouraged to apply for this fellowship.
  • Applicants currently staying in Berlin are not eligible to apply.

  • Application form
  • Cover letter (not more than 1 page) clearly mentioning for which institution you are applying and, if you are applying to ZMO, the preferred research group association.
  • Research project description to be worked upon during visit (not more than 3 pages)
  • Resume with complete list of publications
  • PhD certificate (or proof of submission)
  • Email the application, attached as one single pdf file to office@bgsmcs.fu-berlin.de
