The Doctoral Training Unit on Enforcement in Multi-level Regulatory Systems II (REMS-II) at University of Luxembourg is inviting applications for a PhD position (funded) in economics.
Role and responsibilities:
- The selected candidate will conduct research under the guidance of a professor with the aim of studying towards a PhD in Economics.
- The selected candidate will research on the public-private divide and its challenges to contract enforcement, in particular to public-private partnerships, multilevel regulation, debt leverage and compliance, from a theory or empirical perspective.
- The selected candidate is expected to enroll in the Doctoral School in Economics and Finance and in the broader research program of REMSII. She/he is expected to make links between the perspectives from the disciplines of Law, Economics and Finance.
- The selected candidate will publish research results and present them at conferences, workshops, etc.
- The selected candidate shall contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.
Duration: initially 14-month (Fixed- term), extendable to 48 months,
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold Master’s degree in Economics and/or Finance (Research Track, Quantitative orientation, MSc, MPhil); additional education in Law disciplines is a strong advantage.
- Applicant must have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment; fluency in English is must.
- Applicant must demonstrate strong interest in interdisciplinary research.
