### Tracks for Application

Students can apply via one of two tracks:

1. The Fast Track

This track is exclusively for MSc students of Heidelberg University enrolled in Molecular Biosciences, Molecular Biotechnology, or Biochemistry, who have already been accepted as prospective PhD students by a member of the HBIGS faculty. Applicants continuing their PhD thesis in the same lab where their MSc thesis was completed must apply to HBIGS before finishing their MSc thesis.

2. Regular Track

This track is for applicants who are not yet accepted as prospective PhD students by an HBIGS faculty member. It is open to both Heidelberg University students and those from other institutions. Applicants can submit their applications for advertised PhD positions or as unsolicited applications. They may apply to up to three advertised PhD positions, with the expectation of receiving their final degree before the start of the respective PhD projects.

– Statement of Purpose
– Contact details and letters from two referees
– Filled and uploaded “Statement of acceptance as PhD student” in the field of “Academic records”
