Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST) invites applications for the recruitment of various positions (Scientist-C, SRF, JRF, RA) on contractual basis with consolidated pay under two DBT sponsored projects.

Project title:

1. Chemical profiling of Joha and black rice of Assam for nutritional, nutraceutical parameters and aroma compounds
2. Microbial roles in yield management of scented rice of North East India

Scientist-C Equivalent

Number of places: 01

Salary: Rs. 66,750 per month for 1st year; Rs. 70,833 per month for 2nd year; Rs. 74,916 per month for 3rd year (Consolidated Emolument).

Qualification and Experience:

• PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Zoology (Cell & Molecular Biology) having post-doctoral research experience with at least for three (3) years of experience in the field of herbal/traditional medicine, natural product based drug discovery/development, metabolic syndrome/disease biology.
• Candidate having high impact papers in reputed journals will be preferred.
• Sound knowledge and previous experience of working on animal models, evaluation of medicinal plants extracts and isolated compounds etc.
• Age limit is 35 years; relaxable for SC/ST/ Woman candidate as per govt. rule.

Senior Research Fellow

Number of places: 01

Salary: 28,000 with 20% HRA per month (Candidates with NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualification) or degree in professional courses M.Pharm/ M.Tech with two years of

research experience. Rs.14,000 with 20% HRA per month (candidates without NET/GATE/ BET/ BINC qualification).

Qualification and Experience:

• Candidates with M.Sc/M.Tech/M.Pharm degree (with minimum of 55% marks) or equivalent in Natural products/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/Zoology (Cell & Molecular Biology) are eligible to apply. Candidates should have at least two years research experience on Drug development/biochemical assay/animal experimentation/cell culture techniques/ molecular biology tools are essential.
• Age limit is 28 years; relaxable for SC/ST/ Woman candidate as per govt. rule.

Junior Research Fellow

Number of places: 01

Salary: 25000 + 20% HRA per month for 1st and 2nd year;  28000 + 20% HRA per month for 3rd year Candidates with NETGATE/BET/BINC qualification or degree in professional courses, otherwise (candidates without NET/GATE/ BET/ BINC qualification) Rs.14, 000/+20% HRA per month.

Qualification and Experience:

• Candidates with M.Sc/M.Tech/M.Pharm degree (with minimum of 55% marks) or equivalent in Natural products/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Zoology (Cell & Molecular Biology) are eligible to apply.
• Candidates having research experience on natural products/animal model/cell culture techniques/ molecular biology tools are essential.
• Age limit is 28 years; relaxable for SC/ST/ Woman candidate as per govt. rule.

Details of the different contractual positions for Project (2):

Research Associate

Number of places: 01

Salary: 36,000 with 20% HRA per month

Qualification and Experience:

• PhD in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry/Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Microbiology is eligible to apply.
• The candidate must possess sound knowledge of use of HPLC, GCMS-MS and plant/molecular profiling. Those candidates with PhD in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry having some knowledge for growing bacteria in culture, growing plant in growth chamber or show promise of such desirable work on Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and those with Microbiology specialization candidates with some knowledge of HPLC, GC-MS-MS, metabolite profiling and knowledge of plant tissue culture will be given preference.
• Age limit is 32 years; relaxable for SC/ST/ Woman candidate as per govt. rule.
