The Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS) and the Universities of Stuttgart and Tübingen jointly offers a new interdisciplinary PhD program. This new PhD program will enroll about 100 PhD students over the next six years.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be curious, creative, and passionate about research to join the school.
  • Applicants with a strong academic background and must hold master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Mathematics, Control Theory, Neuroscience, Materials Science, Physics, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

The offer

  • All aspects of the program are in English.
  • Successful candidate may join the program next year.
  • Candidate will be guided by our internationally renowned faculty.
  • Selected candidate will register as a university graduate student and conduct research for approximately 3 years.
  • Selected candidate may take part in a wide variety of scientific seminars, advanced training workshops, and social activities.
  • The PhD degree will be conferred when candidate successfully complete the PhD project.
  • Selected candidate will receive funding via an employment contract, subject to the rules of the Max Planck Society and the two participating universities.
