IMU-Simons Travel Fellowship Program supports joint research visits of mathematicians working in the developing world to a center of excellence in any part of the world for collaborative research in mathematics.
Eligibility criteria:
- Applicant must hold Doctorate in Mathematics
- Applicant must be based (place of work) in a developing country.
- Applicant must be employed as a faculty member of a university or an equivalent institution.
- Applicant must have already established contact with a mathematician in the host institution and must have a definite research plan at the time of applying for the grant.
- The host institution must cover all local living expenses like lodging and boarding.
- Applicant must have been granted appropriate leave of absence from the institution where he/she is working for the period of visit.
Duration: Minimal length of visit should be one (01) month.
Application requirements:
- Completed Application form; must be submitted at least 05 months before the start of the visit for it to be considered.
- CV of the applicant and the host professor must be submitted with the selected list of publications. (not more than 3 pages)

- Invitation letter (formal letter of invitation sent by the host institution directly to cdc@mathunion.org.

- Amount: US$1500- US$2500

- November 1, 2016 (Decisions will be made by December 15, 2016)
- January 15, 2017 (Decisions will be made by February 28, 2017)
- March 15, 2017 (Decisions will be made by April 30, 2017)
