Indo-Australian Career Boosting Gold Fellowships (IACBGF) are joint initiative of the Indian and Australian Governments.

Number of fellowships: Ten (10) researchers from India

Duration of fellowship: The fellowships support travel to pursue a collaborative research project at a leading science institute or university in the Australia for a period of 3-9 months, starting in 2018.

  • developing novel & improved vaccines delivery platforms
  • diagnostics – affordable and rapid diagnostics for genetic and
  • infectious diseases
  • drug discovery and delivery system
  • biomedical devices & implants for therapeutic applications
  • stem cells/regenerative medicines

Indo-Australian Career Boosting Gold Fellowships allowance:

  • Monthly Associate ship: Rs. 1,50,000/-
  • Preparatory allowance: Rs. 20,000/- (one-time payment)
  • Cost of air travel in economy class by Air India for joining the overseas laboratory and back.

Eligibility

  • The Fellowships are open to Indian researchers who are currently employed on a full time basis (need not be a permanent employee) but have not ensued more than 5 year experience as a research scientist since being awarded their PhD.
  • Eligible applicants include persons employed in an Indian Government agency; statutory body or government owned corporation; Indian based university, institute; other national research organization; Indian private sector research and development organization.
  • Unsuccessful applicants in any one round are eligible to re-apply in subsequent rounds.
  • Fellowships are awarded on an individual basis only.
