JNCASR: DST Postdoctoral Fellowships in Nano Science & Technology 6334 views

Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is inviting applications for the award of “DST-Nano Mission Postdoctoral Fellowship” for pursuing research in frontier areas of Nano Science & Technology.

About the fellowship:
  • This highly prestigious fellowship is tenable in Research Institutions/Universities including non-profit R & D institutions anywhere in India.
  • The fellowships are awarded under the Mission on Nano Science & Technology (Nano Mission) of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India.

Eligibility:

  • The applicants should either hold a PhD degree in Science or Engineering or should have submitted the PhD thesis with research interests in Nano Science and Technology and should have very good academic record.
  • Applicant should be below 40 years of age and have evident capabilities of becoming future leaders of Indian science.
  • This fellowship is meant for working in new areas and laboratories in order to expand their research capabilities, other than the one where the candidate obtained the doctorate degree from.

Fellowship value:

  • Consolidated monthly stipend: Rs.55,000/-
  • Research contingency grant: Rs.2,00,000/- per annum

Duration: maximum period of 2 years

Application:

  • Candidates may submit their application in the prescribed format along with bio-data
  • List of publications (attach reprints of 2 important papers)
  • Copies of certificates (B.Sc., M.Sc., M.Tech, Ph.D)
  • One page synopsis of PhD thesis
  • A short write up (1000 words) on the proposed research (which must be compatible with the ongoing research of the proposed supervisor)
