Junior Research Chairs, LabEx ENS-ICFP, Department of Physics, ENS (Ecole normale supérieure)
Department of Physics at ENS Paris invites applications for three JRC (Junior Research Chairs) at postdoctoral level.
Duration: Appointments will be for two (02) years with a possible one year extension.
Department aims at hiring a Junior Research Chair in Statistical Physics who will actively work with the group of G. Biroli.
Research area: Glassy, activated and complex dynamics (physics to machine learning).
For the two other positions, research activities can be experimental and/or theoretical and should correspond to one of the following ones:
- Quantum physics: from atoms to condensed matter
- Biophysics: from the cell to the organism
- Non-linear physics: from the laboratory to the cosmos
- Statistical and theoretical physics
In addition to an internationally competitive salary, ENS-ICFP provides an attractive travel allowance and research funds (150,000 euros for experimentalists). The successful candidates are fully integrated into the Department of Physics and its constituent research laboratories. The positions are funded by the ENS-ICFP grant obtained through the French National Excellence initiative.
Application Procedure:
Applications must be exclusively submitted through Online portal (link given below) and should consist of:
- A cover letter
- A complete CV including a list of publications
- A research project taking into account possible interactions with research groups/faculty within the Department of Physics at Ecole normale supérieure (no more than 4 pages of A4).
- Three (03) letters of recommendation from senior scientists.

Time frame
- Short-listed candidates will be interviewed (videoconferences) in early December 2018.
