Sanskriti Pratishthan opens applications for its yearly Smt Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship in Indian Classical Music and Dance from young artists who want to contribute towards enriching the art form. The purpose of the Fellowship is to boost promising young artists to develop their potential and perfect their skills by providing them the resources and time to dedicate to the art.

Fellowship amount: Rs 1,00,000/-

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be Indian citizen from any genre of Indian Classical Music (Vocal or Instrumental) or Dance (any form or choreography).
  • Proposals that advance the objectives of the program are welcome.
  • Applicant must have at least some years of formal training in Indian classical Music or Dance.
  • Applicant would be required to have given at least 2-3 solo performances to his/her credit.

The successful candidate will be aided to take supervision from a source inaccessible to him/her to improve his existing style. It can be a residency program for a period of at least three months, which can be extended over the period of ten months.

How to Apply:

  • Applicant must send a CV (two pages), a CD of their recitals and a write up of approximately 500 words explaining their project.
  • Project proposal must explain how the fellowship will provide a prospect to express their creativity and technical aptitude and expand the range of their style.
  • Applicant’s full postal and telephonic contact details with e-mail id must be provided to facilitate contact.
  • Some samples of previous work, project or performances must be submitted.
  • Names and contact addresses/telephones of two referees must also be sent.
  • All applicants must mail their CVs and a short synopsis of the project proposal to Sanskriti Head Office.
  • Application must bear the title ‘Sanskriti-Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship’ on the envelope when sent by post and in subject line if sent through email on fellowships@sanskritifoundation.org
