The Faculty of Biology, Medicine & Health, Division of Neuroscience & Experimental Psychology at University of Manchester is seeking two ambitious and self-motivated scientists interested in understanding the neural processes responsible for these effects to join the group, working as part of a large international consortium aiming to use latest neurophysiological insights to inform decisions in architectural and artificial lighting design.

Requirements:
  • Applicant must hold (or expect to hold shortly) a First class or 2:1 equivalent undergraduate degree and Master’s degree in a topic relevant for systems neuroscience.
  • Applicant must possess excellent knowledge of the English language (spoken and written) that meets the requirements of the Faculty of Biology Medicine and Health’s criteria for postgraduate courses.
  • Applicant must have ability to work independently and as part of a team and have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Practical experience of data collection or analysis in an area relevant for systems neuroscience
  • Experience in electrophysiology and strong computational and mathematical skills
  • Applicants must not hold a PhD and must be within 4 years of completion of their Master’s degree
  • Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies etc) in the UK for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.
