Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry and the Mechanisms of Protein Biogenesis Laboratory are seeking a PhD student in Translational Control of Protein Folding.
About the position:
- Appointed candidate will be an enthusiastic early-career scientist to work on dissecting how the cellular machineries for protein synthesis and folding synergize in distinct environments, and how this synergy is perturbed in disease.
- Candidate must be passionate about solving fundamental problems in biology that enjoys working in a dynamic international environment.
- The project will combine genome-wide approaches, genetics, and biochemistry to dissect how events during mRNA translation guide protein structure acquisition in metazoans.
Duration: 3 years (extendable to four)
Value: fully funded
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold a Master’s degree or a similar qualification in a field of life sciences.
- Previous experience with mammalian stem cells or high-throughput sequencing and knowledge of computational biology is advantageous (but not required).
Applications:
- Apply online and send it as a single pdf to Danny Nedialkova (nedialkova@biochem.mpg.de ) with the following documents:
- A letter detailing why you would like to join our group
- CV
- Contact details of two references
