The Max Planck Institute (MPI) for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) offers up to 3 postdoc positions in Economic Sociology and Political Economy.
The MPIfG conducts basic research on the governance of modern societies. The main focus is to develop an empirically based theory of the social and political foundations of modern economies by investigating the interrelation between economic, social, and political action.
Starting date: October 1, 2017
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold PhD degree or expected to receive it before the position begins.
- Selection criteria for the positions is based on scholarly excellence, references, a research proposal outlining a project to be pursued at the MPIfG, and a job interview in person or via video conference.
Duration:
- Positions are awarded for 2 years.
- Postdoc researchers have an office at the MPIfG.
- Recipients are expected to stay in the Cologne area and actively participate in the intellectual life at the Institute.
