The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI) with Elsevier’s collaboration is inviting applications for the Scopus Young Scientist Awards. The awards were first launched by Elsevier in 2006, as part of an Elsevier’s global initiative to support early career researchers in their quest to advance the frontiers of science across a broad range of disciplines.

About the program:
  • The program honours outstanding young researchers in India who are building their careers in academic research, helping them gain recognition for their work.

Award value:

  • A citation & a plaque
  • Cash prize of INR 75,000

5 multi-disciplinary categories are:

  1. WOMEN IN SCIENCE (Female applicants only)
  2. AGRICULTURE, PLANT SCIENCES AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT
  3. ENVIRONMENTALLY SOUND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
  4. BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH AND HEALTHCARE
  5. INNOVATION IN ENGINEERING AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen, residing and working in India
  • Applicant must have completed at least PhD/MD or equivalent degree
  • Applicant must be born on or after January 1st, 1977
  • Activity entered for this award must have been published in one or more respected, externally-refereed scientific journal(s), book(s) or equivalent electronic publication(s) and the publication must be found in Scopus.

  • The completed application form with the following supporting documents to be submitted to Elsevier:
  • Summary of key research achievements / highlights (preferably in bullet points)- 1 page
  • Age Proof (Pan Card, Passport copy, Driving License or Aadhar Card copy would be accepted)
  • List of papers-include only original papers published in Peer reviewed Indian/International journals (note the publication must be found in Scopus).
  • List of patents (if applicable)
  • Recommendation Form
