National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) invites application for the position of R&D Scientist (Project) in a DBT funded project. The position is available in the laboratory of Prof. Pravat K. Mandal.

Project title: Characterizing biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease: A longitudinal multi-modal brain imaging study

Salary: 45,000/- p.m. (consolidated) (No other allowances are applicable).

Duration: initially for 01 year; may be extended based on a performance review. The post is co-terminus with the project.

Accommodation: may be provided as per rules of NBRC (subject to availability)

Qualification required:

  • Tech. / M.E. in Electrical / Electronic or PhD in Physics.
  • Minimum 60% marks from matriculation onwards.
  • Applicant must have some research experience in the area of EEG / MEG signal processing; data analysis tools (MATLAB, IDL and R software); Registration of images from various imaging modalities
  • Applicant must demonstrate ability to multitask, effective project leadership and management; knowledge and experience with Neuroimaging and MR Spectroscopy will be added advantage.

Mandatory requirements

  • Statement of Purpose (SOP) (minimum 500 words) indicating research interests/expertise and M. Tech. / M.E. project details or PhD topic details.
  • Applicants must indicate how their experience / expertise will help ongoing research activities of the Neuroimaging and Neuro-spectroscopy laboratory.
  • Applicant must not exceed age limit of 35 years on the closing date for receipt of application.
