The Nottingham Research Fellowships Scheme targets brilliant early career researchers in all academic disciplines at the University. Fellowship generally commences in October 2017, but there is individual flexibility around this date.

Eligibility:

  • Applicant must hold Doctorate before the Expression of interest (EOI) submission date, and must not have more than 8 years of postdoc experience following the award of their Doctorate.
  • Career breaks such as maternity leave, EU national service, and Voluntary Service Overseas can be discounted, but teaching experience or time spent in industry since the award of a Doctorate must not be more than 96 months.
  • Applicants for the Fellowships can be from any discipline across the Nottingham University, provided the host school is participating in the scheme.
  • Applicant must have experience sufficient to confirm their suitability to complete the proposed programme of work.

How to Apply:

The application procedure is a 4-stage process:

  1. Applicant must make contact with the school or department where they are interested in applying. This is to make sure that school and departments are in support of the Fellowship project.
  2. Submission of an EOI; a brief description of the proposed project and details about the applicant. Forms must be submitted to the named contact in the host school or department. The last date for expressions of interest to be submitted is 5pm, 4th November 2016
  3. After EOI submission, short-listed applicants will be invited submit a full application. The closing date for full applications to be submitted to fellowships@nottingham.ac.uk will be 20th January 2017
  4. Candidates will be informed in early March regarding invitations to attend an interview, likely to be around 20th March.
