Bioprocess laboratory is seeking for a motivated PhD student in the area of Bioprocess Technology/Engineering of biofuels. The Bioprocess laboratory is committed for interdisciplinary research based on bio-based science together with chemical technology or engineering.
We are focusing on alternative energy sources to replace fossil/oil-based materials by renewable biomaterials from biomass. Objective of project is to economically produce sustainable biofuels (especially biobutanol) for their commercial application.
Biobutanol is 4 carbon alcohol fuel that overcomes several hindrances that have been observed with bioethanol. The main challenge in economic biobutanol production is the use of lignocellulosic biomass, for its production.
Required Eligibility
Masters degree in biochemical technology/ bioprocess, chemical technology, bioengineering or equivalent degree in biotechnology.
Desirable – Applicats with good publication record will be preferred. As PhD students take part in laboratory teaching communication skills with students are needed.
