The Faculty of Science at VU invites online applications from candidates interested in quantum physics and advanced experimental tools to manipulate quantum systems, such as single atoms and molecules for filling up the PhD Position in Analytical Environmental Chemistry for LimnoPlast project at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam to investigate plastic particles and determine these in matrices associated with human exposure.

About position: This position will investigate plastic particle distribution in the aquatic environment, gather data on potential exposure routes of microplastics for humans and supervision of research traineeships and literature theses of master students within the scope of the LimnoPlast project.The LimnoPlast consortium has a dedicated mission to train and educate the next generation of interdisciplinary early stage researchers (ESRs) in the field of plastic particle environmental continuation.

Position: Ph.D

Location: AMSTERDAM.

Salary: €2,325 (PhD) per month during the first year and increases to €2,972 (PhD) per month during the fourth year.

Educational qualifications: Interested candidates should have MSc degree in Analytical environmental chemistry, Analytical chemistry with excellent command of the English language and scientific writing skills and experience in Environmental monitoring and/or Human biomonitoring.
