The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) is inviting application for a PhD in Polar Atmospheric Science in the Extreme Environments Research Laboratory (EERL).
The PhD student will work for the “Climate relevant interactions and feedback: the key role of sea ice and snow in the polar and global climate system” (CRiceS) project. This ambitious project aims to enhance our understanding of the ocean-ice-snow-atmosphere system by delivering improved models capable of describing polar and global climates.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold master’s degree (or equivalent) in atmospheric, climate or environmental science, meteorology, physics or similar.
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary studies and polar regions.
- Basic knowledge of scientific programming.
- Data handling skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, team player.
- Good knowledge of English (written and spoken).
- Capable of conducting scientific research independently.
