Two Ph.D degree positions supported by Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) are available in the laboratory of Prof. Jian-Hua Liang in the faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology (http://isc.bit.edu.cn/schools/ceae/knowingprofessors3/121643.htm).
We are seeking independent and highly motivated candidates with a background in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and related to synthesis. This lab’s main interest is to rationally design and synthesize small bioactive molecules and identify the structure-activity relationships. Specifically, we are investigating potent molecules against drug resistant cancer, resistant pathogens, Alzheimer’s disease and diabetes.
To achieve this goal, we employ a combination of natural product screening and structural modification to define effective chemicals, and work in collaboration with other biological groups to study the underlying mechanisms.
One of the positions is jointly supervised by Prof. Wei-Shuo Fang in Institute of Materia Medica (IMM), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences & Peking Union Medical College. (http://www.imm.ac.cn/groups/fangws/).
Requirements:
Candidates should have a master degree in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry and related field to chemical synthesis. Publications on international journals are a plus.
Interested applicants should apply for CSC Scholarship at first (refer to the instruction http://isc.bit.edu.cn/admissionsaid/financialaid/scholarships/112920.htm).
After passing the initial review (complete step 1-3 in the above instruction), the applicant should send a detailed CV, full papers in peer-reviewed journals, the contact information of three references, and also the application information (CSC serial number, BIT application number and the number of your Initial Review Notice) to: Prof Jian-Hua Liang (ljhbit@bit.edu.cn).
Please note only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
