PhD Position in Engineering Physics at Uppsala University: Electricity Division, the Ångström Laboratory, Uppsala University invited application for filling up the PhD student position in power systems available at Electricity Division, the Ångström Laboratory to Analyse the ability of the electricity grid to handle a high proportion of electricity produced from intermittent renewable energy sources, Study the readiness of the electricity grid to deal with rare conditions with high impact.
About the Position: The aim of this project is to study the vulnerability of the electricity grid and the results will be used to supply risk reduction guidelines for both controllable and renewable energy installations. This research is part of the Center for Natural Disaster Studies (CNDS), a national research center aimed at preventing and improving society’s preparedness for risks by increasing knowledge of the dynamics and consequences of natural disasters.

Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have Master degree in electrical engineering, engineering physics or energy systems engineering or in another related area with Experience and interest in both numerical modeling and programming.
