In the Department 02 – “Social Sciences, Media and Sports” in the Institute of Educational Science in the team “School Improvement and School Effectiveness Research” (Prof. Dr. Tobias Feldhoff) at the Johannes-Gutenberg University Mainz.

Duration: The position is initially limited to three years.

Tasks Involved:

  1. In the first year you work in the project “S-Clever”. From 2022 on, your main focus of work will probably be the project “Schools in Times of Change”
  2. You develop and pursue an independent research question in one of the two projects and write your dissertation based on it

Skills/Qualifications

Your profile:

In addition to the general requirements under civil service law, applicants must fulfill the hiring requirements stipulated in § 56 of the Rhineland-Palatinate Higher Education Act.

  1. You have a very good master’s degree (or similar qualification) in education or social sciences, sociology, psychology or a teacher training program
  2. Master thesis in the field of school improvement or school effectiveness research or have already published relevant papers in the field (journal article, book chapters etc.)
  3. You have sound knowledge in school improvement and/or school effectiveness research
  4. Sound knowledge in the application of statistical analysis methods and routines in the management of empirical data (SPSS).
