The Department of Life Sciences & Chemistry at Jacobs University is inviting applications within a funded project in Synthetic Organic Chemistry.
Qualifications:
- Applicant must hold MSc. degree in organic chemistry and two or more years of industrial experience synthesizing organic compounds.
- Know how to set up reactions, monitor them, quench them, and purify the products. Within that framework you know how to optimize reactions.
- Applicant must have very good knowledge of 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy and good knowledge of IR and MS data interpretation for structure elucidation.
- Applicant must have experience with writing experimental descriptions and can express spectral and HPLC data in a text format.
- Applicant’s curiosity for organic chemistry should be high and you want to expand your theoretical and mechanistic knowledge.
