The Fritz Haber Institute (Department of Inorganic Chemistry) offers a PhD position for the study of perimeter effects of bimetallic nanocatalyst systems by means of chemical electron microscopy.
Tasks:
- The successful candidate will perform chemical electron microscopy to conclude on perimeter and structure in bimetallic nanocatalyst systems.
- The investigations will include quasi in-situ electron microscopy of the chosen system where the corresponding catalytic reaction is performed in a TEM-grid reactor.
- By combining the outcome of this work with the results of complementary techniques of the participating institutions, an improved understanding of coupled catalytic systems will be generated.
Requirements:
- Applicant must be an excellent, highly motivated scientist to join the team.
- Applicant must have completed university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science.
- A background in heterogeneous catalysis and/or experience with transmission electron microscopy is advantageous.
Duration: 3 years
Applications:
- Application to be sent via email to hetaba@fhi-berlin.mpg.de including following documents:
- CV
- Publication list
- A short description of previous research
- Names and addresses of two referees
- Quote the reference “UniSysCat” in the subject heading to
