PhD programme in Law: 8 positions 780 views

The Faculty of Law at University of Bergen (UiB) has eight (8) PhD positions. The positions are for a fixed-term period of 3 years, with the possibility for a 4th year, consisting of 25 per cent compulsory work distributed across the employment period. A 4th year is contingent on the qualifications of the candidate.

Qualifications:
  • Applicant must hold a master’s degree in law or equivalent, or must have submitted his/her master’s thesis for assessment prior to the application deadline.
  • Applicant must through the grades received in the master’s degree or equivalent and/or written works, have demonstrated a high professional level that qualifies for legal work
  • Applicant is expected to work independently and in a structured manner, and have the ability to cooperate with others
  • Applicant is expected to contribute in the development of the discipline
  • Applicant is expected to participate in the development of a good academic environment
  • Applicant must be proficient in both written and oral English

  • A list of any works of a scientific nature (publication list)
  • Relevant certificates/references
  • Transcripts and diplomas showing completion of the bachelor’s and master’s degrees, or official confirmation that the master’s thesis has been submitted.
  • Applicants with education from outside Norway must enclose certified translation into English or Scandinavian if the original diploma and transcripts is in any of these languages.
