European University Institute (EUI) at the School of Transnational Governance (STG) offers fellowships to early- and mid- career policy professionals for the academic year 2019-2020.
About the Fellowship:
- A unique opportunity for policy professionals from around the world to further develop their policy work and professional skills whilst participating in workshops, training and skills development sessions, conferences and other events, in addition to interacting with the other fellows, policy makers and the academic community at the EUI.
Duration:
- 3, 6 or 9 months
- 1 September-30 November 2019 (3 months)
- 1 September- 28 February 2020 (6 months)
- 1 September – 31 May 2020 (9 months)
- 7 January- 7 April 2020 (3 months)
- 7 January – 7 July 2020 (6 months)
Fellowship value: fully-funded with a grant of € 2,500 per month; family allowance
Eligibility:
- Applicants must be early- or mid-career professionals in politics, civil service, media and non-governmental organizations.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate both professional experience and potential for future excellence in the policy sphere.
- Applicants must be genuinely engaged individuals involved in policy issues, especially those related to transnational governance.
- Applicants must be self-motivated, able to present a clear work plan for the fellowship to show what the applicant will achieve and how this work will have a ‘multiplier’ impact after the fellowship.
- Applicants must be curious and engaged contributors. Fellows are expected to be part of the EUI community on a daily basis and to participate in peer discussions on topics which may be beyond their expertise.
- Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- The fellowship is open to applications from anywhere in the world, regardless of nationality.
- There is no maximum or minimum age limit.
Applications:
- Applications have to be submitted through the Online Application Form and attach the following documents (in PDF in English):
- CV (a short biography of max. 1000 characters)
- Letter of motivation (max 2 pages) describing interests and/or links with transnational policy issues, future professional ambitions and the reasons to apply for the fellowship
- Detailed work-plan (max 2 pages)
- Copy of the highest educational certificate.
- The name of one referee, preferably a person who has worked with the applicant, and ensure that the reference is submitted online directly by the referee by the deadline 22 February.
- Applicants are recommended to provide the names and contact details of two other referees whom the EUI may contact.
