OVERVIEW:

The Department of biochemistry & chemistry the University of California (UC), Santa Cruz invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

  1. The successful applicant should be a skilled instructor who possesses innovative ideas for instructional initiatives and has familiarity with existing learning assessment methodologies and pedagogies.
  2. The primary focus of this position is teaching and professional activities for first-year general chemistry.
  3. The successful candidate must demonstrate professional achievement and intellectual leadership through publication, creative accomplishments, or other professional activity.
  4. As a member of the Academic Senate, the successful candidate will be an important resource for undergraduate curriculum development and will participate in university and departmental committees as needed for effective teaching and laboratory safety enforcement.
  5. The successful candidate must demonstrate professional achievement and intellectual leadership through publication, creative accomplishments, or other professional activity.

ELEGIBILITY CRITRIA:

  • D. (or equivalent foreign degree) in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related field; record of teaching; record of professional achievement and activity.
  • It is expected that the degree requirement will be completed by June 30, 2021.
