Postdoc: Chemistry, Petroleum Engineering, Mathematics
Postdoc in PVT modelling and compositional simulation, Centre for Energy Resources Engineering (CERE) DTU Chemistry.
DTU Chemistry seeks a postdoc in connection with the project Gas Injection in Lower Cretaceous Reservoirs. CERE is a cross departmental centre. CERE group at DTU Chemistry is focused on high-pressure phase behaviour and other critical issues related to oil and gas production, petroleum processing, and carbon dioxide sequestration, where a fundamental understanding based on chemistry, physics, and necessary mathematical tools is needed.
Involved Responsibilities and tasks
The major responsibility of the postdoc are:
- To carry out modelling and simulation work in this project about gas injection.
- To interact with other colleagues within the project working on experimental PVT measurement, core flooding tests and gas diffusion measurements.
- To develop fluid models based on the measured experimental data, and process the core flooding data to get suitable engineering parameters for larger scale simulations, and finally develop a sector compositional model to evaluate the effects of gas injection, its feasibility and which gas is more suitable.
- Candidate shold familiar with PVT modelling and compositional simulation
- Has sufficient knowledge about reservoir engineering
The experimental measurement will be carried out with the help from the CERE group at DTU Chemical Engineering. The candidate is expected to collaborate with other groups in CERE as well as with the Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre at DTU.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent in chemical engineering, chemistry, petroleum engineering, or mathematics.
- Previous experience with PVT modelling of reservoir fluids and reservoir simulation is an advantage.
Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to
- scientific production and research potential at international level
- innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas
- the ability to communicate at all levels such as the provision of scientific advice to public sector authorities
- an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience
- the ability to contribute to development of internal and external cooperation
