Department of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology (MCN), Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam invites online applications from experienced researcher with background of electrophysiology for filling up a 4-year post-doc position within the project on Balancing The Imbalanced Brain available at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology (MCN) of the Center of Neurogenomics and Cognitive Research (CNCR). The aim of MCN department is to discover processes of synaptic function and neuronal plasticity across many levels of organization, from molecules up to behavior in animal models of human brain disease.

About position: Selected candidates will explore in a rat model of depression, using cell type-specific interventions, whether ECM disturbances and/or intrinsic changes in inhibitory neuron activity are the driving force for the molecular and behavioral changes observed. This research will focus on intrinsic (PV and pyramidal neurons) and network activity of the hippocampus, as well as behavioral and molecular effects.

Position: Postdoc

Location: AMSTERDAM.

Duration: 4 year,

Salary: €2,709 to €4,274 (scale 10).

Educational qualifications: Interested candidates should have PhD Degree in electrophysiology with interest and skills in behavioral and molecular/cellular neuroscience.
