Key Work Involved: Using molecular markers and data recorded in the field, you will investigate the population dynamics of the invasive Asian Longhorned beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis) at the four main outbreaks in Switzerland and reconstruct the presumed pathways of introduction and spread of this quarantine pest. The outcomes of the project will be published in international and national journals and are expected to provide scientific basis for pest management by the Swiss plant protection service.

Key Requirements / Qualifications: You have the following –

  • PhD in Ecology, Entomology or Phytopathology
  • Deep experience in molecular techniques (DNA extraction, PCR, sequencing, microsatellite and SNP genotyping) and population genetics analyses.
