Overview:
The Peter Grünberg Institute Semiconductor Nanoelectronics investigates fundamental problems in semiconductor physics and in semiconductor materials. In the device development alternative concepts including optically mediated and electronical devices and property limits are explored
- Nanofabrication of single photon sources, spin qubits and microdisk/waveguide systems based on II/VI semiconductors
- Design, theoretical simulation and optimizing of micro/nano resonators to enhance the quantum efficiency
- Photoluminescence spectroscopy at temperatures below 10 K
- Improvement and expansion of the photoluminescence setup
- Quantum optical characterization of single photon sources and spin qubits by advanced quantum correlation measurements
- Participation in the development of down-conversion schemes to transfer single photons from the blue/green spectral range to ultraviolet emission and to the telecommunication bands.
Eligibility Criteria
- Master`s degree in physics and successful doctorate in the field of solid state or semiconductor physics or nanotechnology
- Extensive knowledge in nanotechnology and semiconductor physics
- Advanced knowledge in optical spectroscopy of semiconductors by micro-photoluminescence
- Experience in the design and improvement of optical spectroscopy setups
- Experience in quantum optical techniques such as correlation-, magneto- and resonance-spectroscopy
- Good communications skills and organizational talent
- Very good spoken and written English
