The Max Planck Institute for Physics is inviting applications for Postdoc position in ATLAS Muon Spectrometer Groupfor fundamental research in particle and astroparticle physics from both experimental and theoretical perspectives. One main research activity is the participation in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN.
About the research:
- The group has contributed to the design and construction of the ATLAS muon spectrometer and is strongly involved in upgrades of the ATLAS muon detector in the current LHC shutdown and for High-Luminosity LHC.
- The successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in the muon detector and electronics development and in the coordination of the construction.
- There will also be the possibility to participate in ATLAS data analysis.
Requirements:
- A PhD in particle physics and experience with the operation of particle detectors is required.
Duration: initially limited to two years
Applications:
Send an application letter including the following:
- CV
- List of publications
- Statement of research interests
- 03 letters of recommendation
