The Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies (BGSMCS) invite applications for a Postdoctoral Position funded by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation.

About the position:
  • Candidate is expected to be outstanding postdoctoral researchers who are engaged in research projects relevant to school’s research focus.
  • It is expected that fellows to participate in the academic life, to give presentations on their research, and to teach one workshop per semester at the Graduate School on methodological and theoretical issues relevant to the doctoral fellows.
  • The successful applicant will be employed on a full position for two years.
  • The salary (starting at ca. 50.000,- EUR/year) includes public health insurance and social benefits.

Requirements:

  • Applications are open to recent postdocs (thesis must have been submitted; not more than four years after award of the doctoral degree) in the Humanities and the Social Sciences.
  • Applicant must possess excellent command of English in both writing and speaking
  • Applicant to have very good knowledge of one of the regional contexts of the Graduate School
  • Applicant must have proven experience with empirical research and research methods and track record of publications
