Postdoc position in Immunology at University of Basel 1984 views

The Finke laboratory at University of Basel is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist to investigate tissue-specific immune functions of innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) in health and disease. The lab has a long-standing interest in ILC biology. The focus of our current research is to better understand the molecular mechanisms of tissue-specific ILC functions.

About the position:

• Investigate ILC-mediated immunoregulatory networks, ILC interactions with other immune cells and tissue stromal cells
• Answering basic research questions with a relationship to human diseases

Requirements:

• Applicant must hold PhD or MD/PhD in immunology, cell or molecular biology or similar discipline
• Proven expertise in two or more of the following: in vivo experimental immunology, multi-colour flow cytometry, cell imaging, advanced primary cell and organ culture, ‘omics (RNA-seq, ChIP-Seq, etc.)
• Hands-on knowledge of experimental mouse models
• Evidence of productivity from publications in peer-reviewed research journals originating from PhD or postdoctoral work
• Excellent organization skills, self-motivation and creativity
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Knowledge in bioinformatics (programming and handling of big data) is a plus.
• Due to work permit issues, a current resident of Switzerland or a legal resident of EU countries is preferred
