Postdoc Position in Neuroscience at UQ: The Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) works to understand the development, organisation and function of the brain. The School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, the University of Queensland (UQ) invited applications from eligible candidates for filling up the full-time, fixed term position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow available at St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses to investigate the in-vivo trafficking of synaptic proteins during learning and memory using two-photon microscopy, Publish high quality papers, maintain familiarity with relevant scientific literature and supervision of junior members and students within the laboratory.

About the Position: This research will involve setting up an associative learning paradigm in awake animals under the two-photon microscope to visualize changes in the structure and function of dendritic spines as well as the redistribution of fluorescently labelled synaptic proteins.

Educational qualifications: Interested and eligible candidates must have PhD degree in neuroscience, biophysics, biomedical engineering or other relevant scientific discipline and prior experience with in-vivo 2-photon imaging microscopy, stereotaxic surgeries for the delivery of AAVs and/or in-utero electroporation, animal behaviour and programming (Matlab)and exposure of research on social disadvantages, fairness, welfare, etc. will be preferred.
