The Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology at University of Copenhagen is inviting applications from highly motivated and dynamic researcher for a 1.5-year position to begin July, 1st, 2019 or shortly thereafter. The position is part of a H2020 grant: Click-it, with the aim to develop pretargeted imaging strategies from bench-to-bedside.

About the position:

  • The project connected to this position aims to develop bioorthogonal chemistry for molecular imaging probes and translate them from bench-to-bedside within our consortium.
  • The successful candidate will synthesize tetrazines that can be labelled with fluoride-18 and afterwards be used to image nanomedicines using Positron Emission Tomography (PET).
  • SAR studies will be carried out to identify suitable structures that have appropriate pharmacokinetics to perform organic chemistry in living subjects.
  • The successful candidate will also be involved in radioactive labelling and subsequent evaluation experiments.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a PhD in Organic Chemistry, Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry or similar.
  • Applicant must have experience in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry
  • Applicant must have an active interest in drug development and translational chemistry
  • Applicant must be proficient in communication skills and ability to work in teams and possess excellent English skills written and spoken
