Institute for Biochemistry I, UKJ at Friedrich Schiller University is inviting application for Postdoc Position in Neurobiology/Cell biology/Imaging/Biochemistry. The position is available under University Prof. Britta Qualmann.
About the Project:
- The project aims at studying the membrane interactions and the cell shape-changing potential of further proteins we have identified as membrane shapers as well as their regulation and their interplay with further cellular components, in particular those of the cytoskeleton.
- By applying biochemical, cell biological, genetic and modern imaging and ultra-high resolution imaging techniques we reach detailed insights into how cells develop, maintain and modulate the specific and often very much specialized morphology required for their physiological function.
Requirements:
- Applicants must have solid theoretical and practical knowledge of modern cell and/or neurobiology, biochemistry, molecular biology and imaging techniques as well in data processing.
- FELASA B or C or corresponding qualification for animal work as well as experience in generation/analyses of KO mice, biochemical and biophysical methods for membrane and actin dynamics studies, advanced methods of light microscopy and/or electron microscopy are very much appreciated.
- Candidates need to be merely fluent English is a prerequisite for the team members, due to the internationality of the group and of the lively university town of Jena.
Duration: 3 years.
Applications:
Send complete application with cover letter, CV, certificates incl. grades; list of publications & honours; 3 ref. addresses to Michael.Kessels@med.uniājena.de.
