Overview:

The Department of Geological Sciences is one of the larger departments within the Faculty of Science with about 70 employees and 1000 students. The department supports a broad range of research within marine geology, geochemistry and classical geology and provides education programs in the geological sciences at Bachelors, Masters and PhD levels.

About the position:

  1. We are looking for a self-motivated person who can be part of a modern geochemical research environment.
  2. You will be responsible for the stable isotope laboratory (SIL) and manage maintenance, calibration, user training and method development of our stable isotope instruments and peripherals.
  3. You will also develop new analytical methods in collaboration with our researchers, doctoral students and other users.
  4. It is expected that you will acquire new skills within the framework of this position that are needed to develop new methods and to operate and maintain instruments.
  5. These may include, for example, the adaption of equipment or the construction of new experimental and/or analytical peripherals for our instruments.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • We are looking for a competent person with a PhD or alternatively a person with several years of work experience in mass spectrometry with focus on stable isotope ratio measurements, so called IRMS, with relevant knowledge acquired in natural sciences.
