Postdoctoral Associate: Weill Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology 1280 views

Weill Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology at Cornell University has Postdoctoral researcher position available in the Lammerding Lab. The postdoc will investigate how migration through confined spaces, for example in the context of cancer metastasis or immune cell infiltration, can modulate chromatin organization, gene expression, and promote genomic instability.

All of the research projects combine fluorescent reporters, live cell microscopy and microfabricated devices that mimic physiological environments with cell and molecular biology approaches to characterize changes in chromatin modifications, organization, and gene expression.

Qualifications:
  • Applicant must hold PhD in cell or molecular biology, biochemistry, or biomedical engineering.
  • Experience in cancer cell biology and/or genomic instability and chromatin modifications is desired and a considerable plus.
  • Previous experience working with mammalian cells is required.
  • Proficiency in English and a successful record of publications is required.
  • Experience with microscopic imaging is preferred but not a requirement.

Applications:

Applications to be sent to Dr. Jan Lammerding at jan.lammerding@cornell.edu including the following materials:

  • Research statement, including a brief summary of previous research experiences, along with motivation and specific fit for the above project(s) (1-3 pages)
  • CV
  • Names and contact information for a minimum of three references
