European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) invites applications for a post-doctoral position in the BioSAXS group running a dedicated biological solution scattering beamline P12. The BioSAXS group develops and maintains the ATSAS software package for biological scattering data analysis and interpretation which is employed by thousands of users worldwide.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will contribute to the future development of computational approaches in ATSAS for the data processing and data interpretation.
- The work will focus on computational method developments for high-throughput SAXS data acquisition and analysis for soluble and membrane proteins as well as for macromolecular complexes.
- The successful candidate will also be involved in collaborative projects with scientists from across Europe and elsewhere who use the P12 beamline.
Duration: 2 years
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants must hold Doctorate in a relevant field Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Structural Biology.
- Applicant must have extended experience with computational algorithms and programming languages (Fortran, C++, Python).
- Applicant must possess expertise in X-ray scattering/diffraction.
- Applicant must have knowledge and experience in MySQL databases, Java/JBoss, and SOAP web services.
- Applicant must possess good communication skills, fluency in English and ability to collaborate with international teams.
