The Department of Geography at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) has a vacancy for a temporary position as Postdoctoral Fellow.

About the position:
  • This is a temporary position available in the field of glaciological and hydrological modelling in mountain environments for a period of 2 years.
  • The project titled “Bracketing uncertainties in glacier melt impacts on hydrological systems in Europe and Central Asia as a means of reducing risks for society” aims to assess the responses of glacial and hydrological systems in northern and central Europe and Central Asia to the documented (past) and projected (future) climate change using high-complexity glacier and hydrological models and existing climate datasets from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP).

Qualification:

  • Applicant must have completed a Norwegian doctoral degree in Physical Geography or other relevant field or corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree is required.
  • Prior experience with numerical modelling, preferably in the fields of climatology, glaciology or hydrology.
  • Good written and oral skills in the English language and preferably in one of the Scandinavian languages.
