Postdoctoral position for the ‘SOLIGION’ project (History) 775 views

The Department of History at University of Antwerp is looking for 1 part-time (80%) postdoctoral researcher for the project ‘ SOLIGION:  Co-creation of complementary forms of social support by philosophical and secular welfare state institutions’ that is being carried out in the Urban Studies Institute.

About the project:
  • The project aims to improve forms of cooperation and complementarity between philosophical organizations (FBOs) and secular welfare state institutions (WSIs) with regard to solidarity and social support.
  • This is done by 1 ° research into the interaction between FBOs and WSIs via interdisciplinary and multi-method approaches and 2 ° the co-creation by FBOs and WSIs of new forms of local social support.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a doctorate in a discipline within the social sciences or humanities and you have demonstrable affinity with the subject of the project (religion, solidarity, civil society and / or the welfare state).
  • Applicant must have experience with interdisciplinary approaches and with the valorisation of scientific output.
  • Applicant must have the capacity and willingness to provide scientific and practical support to a team of researchers.
  • Applicant must have a high degree of research independence, but also a strong potential and preference for collaboration.
  • Applicant must be quality-oriented, conscientious, creative and cooperative.
  • Applicant must be able to speak and write Dutch and English fluently (active); passive knowledge of French is an asset.
