Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), Research Institute for Marine Resources Utilization(MRU) is inviting applications for recruitment of Postdoctoral Researcher- “Functional Soft Material”.

About the position:

  • The successful applicant will be expected to develop clean chemical processes inspired by the unique physicochemical properties of deep-sea extreme environments and to use them to fabricate functional soft materials.

Requirements:

  • Applicants are required to have been awarded or expect to have obtained a Ph.D. in a related field by the date of employment.
  • No more than 5 years can have passed between the last day of the fiscal year in which the applicants obtained a Ph.D. and the date of employment.
  • Persons of any nationality and either gender are encouraged to apply.

Duration: September 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020.

  • Research plan for the project (1 copy, 1-2 pages).

  • A list of competitive research funds awarded to the applicant (1 copy).
  • 2 (or fewer) representative publications (1 copy).
  • A letter of recommendation from a senior research scientist. The person providing the recommendation should send the letter to JAMSTEC directly by POST or E-mail.
