The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) is offering a Postdoctoral Position in Lipidomics in the Biological Mass Spectrometry Group of Dr. Andrej Shevchenko.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Candidate should be seeking a highly motivated individual with strong background in biological mass spectrometry and lipidomics with command knowledge of high resolution shotgun or LC-MS/MS profiling.
- Practical experience in lipid biochemistry, analysis of solid and liquid biopsies, tissues manipulation with laser-capture microdissection is advantage.
- The successful candidate will work on the lipidomics of micro-dissected tissues to gain molecular insight on the spatial organization of tissue lipidomes, how it changes during diseases progression and how to understand these changes via mutli-omics integration.
Qualifications:
- Candidate should have a doctoral degree and documented experience in biological mass spectrometry in the area of lipid biology and lipidomics.
- Work experience with instruments of the Orbitrap family or FT MS, scientific interest in metabolic disorders and translational applications are essential.
- Candidate should interact with members of an interdisciplinary team of cell biologists, omics scientists, computer scientists and clinicians, work in a competitive international environment and possess excellent communication and data presentation skills (English is a working language in MPI).
