The Fritz Haber Institute (Department of Inorganic Chemistry) is offering a Postdoctoral position – Synthesis of supported metal nanoparticles.
Role and Responsibilities:
- The project deals with direct functionalization of hydrocarbon molecules applying supported metal nanoparticles as catalysts.
- The successful candidate will develop synthetic techniques to prepare supported bimetallic particles with the target to stabilize different nanostructures on the surface of oxide supports characterized by high dispersion and homogeneity.
- The work is aimed at a deeper understanding of metal-promoter-support interactions in heterogeneous catalysis.
- The activities are involved in the collaboration of the Fritz-Haber-Institut with the UniSysCat – BASF – JointLab at the Technical University Berlin.
Requirements:
- Applications are open to inorganic chemist with conceptual skills, who can work independently, and systematically.
- Applicant must hold PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science.
- A strong proven research background in inorganic chemistry and heterogeneous catalysis is advantageous.
Duration: 2 years with the option on extension and the opportunity for further qualification.
Applications:
Applications to be sent via e-mail to trunschke@fhi-berlin.mpg.de (Reference “Syn-B”):
