The Niels Bohr International Academy, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen has open Postdoctoral positions in an interdisciplinary research at the interface between physics, biology, and fluid mechanics.
About the positions:
- The postdoctoral fellowships are funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation, this research program will use theoretical and computational modeling, along with in-house experiments to study fundamental problems in active matter with potential applications in the life sciences.
- Projects range across topics including understanding of the cellular decision-making process, designing active materials capable of self-organization and self-healing, topology and fluid mechanics of self-pumping fluids, and automatic detection of mechanical forces generated by cells using advanced machine-learning techniques combined with soft matter physics.
- A number of projects include close collaborations with theorists and experimental biophysicists in US, UK, Japan, and Europe.
- The positions can be funded for up to three years and candidates with interest in both theoretical and computational physics, as well as experimental work are welcome.
