The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral position in Immunology.
About the position:
- The position is open to an immunologist at the postdoctoral level to work in the team of Professor Karlsson Hedestam at MTC.
- The group studies B cell-mediated immunity and immunogenetics.
- The project aims to investigate allelic diversity in adaptive immune receptor genes using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) methodology.
- The group has established protocols and software for analysis of expressed immune repertoires and for inference of adaptive immune receptor germline genes in both humans and non-human species.
Requirements:
- Applicant must hold a doctorate degree (PhD), or equivalent scientific degree, in a relevant subject is required.
- Expertise in using genetic and cell-based approaches is required.
- Prior experience in both human genetics and the use of animal models to study the immune system is desired.
- Candidates with a strong interest in basic immunology and documented experience in gene expression analysis are prioritized.
