Postdoctoral Researcher: Forest Soil Science 737 views

The Faculty of Science and Forestry at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher (Forest soil science). The position is open to a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join the project “Seasonality of root symbioses in boreal forests”, funded by the Academy of Finland.

Tasks and responsibilities:
  • The tasks are planning, implementing and reporting experimental studies on the stress tolerance of ectomycorrhizal, arbuscular mycorrhizal and actinorhizal symbioses and their plant and microbial partners.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must hold a doctoral degree in Forest Sciences, Biology, Environmental Sciences or a related field.
  • Experience in some of the following is considered an asset: Experimenting with plants and their symbionts; root studies; microbiological laboratory work; microscopy; chemical analyses; ecophysiological measurements
  • Publications in scientific journals.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills

Duration: fixed term; 1 September 2019 to 31 May 2023
