The Department of Chemistry and Materials Science at Aalto University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Polymer Chemistry/Physics.
Role and responsibilities:
- The main tasks will be the identification of optimal photoresponsive molecules and nanoparticles, characterizing their stimuli-responsive behaviour in model systems, such as thin films consisting of matrix thermoplastic polymer and photoactive molecules/nanoparticles in question.
- The idea of these model systems is to identify the optimal concentrations of the active molecules, and then study the interplay of multiple functionalities in the same material system.
- The selected candidate will also participate in supervision of younger students, as well as occasional teaching activities related to soft materials science/polymer physics.
Requirements:
- Applicant must have a PhD and background in for example polymer chemistry, polymer physics, functional soft materials, chemical engineering and/or physics.
- Deep interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and previous work experience in collaborative projects involving multiple disciplines will be considered a bonus.
- Applicant must possess good oral and written command of English.
Applications:
Apply online and must include the following documents in English.
- CV describing education, employment history and list of scientific publications
- Motivation letter
- Names and contact information of at least three references
