Postdoctoral Researcher in Polymer Chemistry/Physics 1914 views

The Department of Chemistry and Materials Science at Aalto University is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Polymer Chemistry/Physics.

Role and responsibilities:
  • The main tasks will be the identification of optimal photoresponsive molecules and nanoparticles, characterizing their stimuli-responsive behaviour in model systems, such as thin films consisting of matrix thermoplastic polymer and photoactive molecules/nanoparticles in question.
  • The idea of these model systems is to identify the optimal concentrations of the active molecules, and then study the interplay of multiple functionalities in the same material system.
  • The selected candidate will also participate in supervision of younger students, as well as occasional teaching activities related to soft materials science/polymer physics.

Requirements:

  • Applicant must have a PhD and background in for example polymer chemistry, polymer physics, functional soft materials, chemical engineering and/or physics.
  • Deep interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and previous work experience in collaborative projects involving multiple disciplines will be considered a bonus.
  • Applicant must possess good oral and written command of English.

Applications:

Apply online and must include the following documents in English.

  • CV describing education, employment history and list of scientific publications
  • Motivation letter
  • Names and contact information of at least three references
